Our staff at Chestnut Hill Cat Clinic is filled with passionate animal lovers who are here to help you and your cat! They are highly trained and dedicated to making sure that your cats receive the care and compassion every time they walk in the door!
We offer the following services to keep your cats healthy:
Dental Care
Why is providing dental care important?
Oral care is an important part of our own personal care and the same is true for our cats.
Cats experience plaque and tartar accumulation, gingivitis, periodontitis, tooth fracture, endodontic disease, as well as tooth resorption. The state of dental health is part of the overall health of your cat and can impact quality of life.
At Chestnut Hill Cat Clinic we offer dental services to address all phases of dental disease. Our services include teeth cleaning, dental radiographs, extractions as well as oral surgery. For optimal safety, all dental procedures are preformed with constant patient supervision and monitoring, as well as intravenious fluid support.
Have a discussion about the health of your cat’s teeth at your next exam.
Surgery
Should your cat be in need of a complicated surgery, Healing Hands Veterinary Surgery is available. Dr. Dave Puerto has extensive surgical experience, both in a university setting and in private practice.
Advanced Digital X-rays
At Chestnut Hill Cat Clinic in Philadelphia, PA , we are proud to be on the cutting edge of medical technology. Radiology is a technique and diagnostic tool that we use to look inside the body in an entirely non-invasive way. X-rays allow us to create images of all the body’s organs.
In other words, the use of radiology gives us a view of the internal organs in your cats’ body that we otherwise could not see. It is a valuable diagnostic tool that helps veterinarians detect and prevent illness.
Wellness Exams
At Chestnut Hill Cat Clinic in Philadelphia, PA , we believe that regular checkups and wellness exams are critical to your cats’ well-being. These wellness exams give us a chance to evaluate the overall health of your cat while also giving us a baseline for their unique bodies and tendencies.
Not only do these exams keep us up-to-date with your cats’ health, but they also allow us to detect potential problems before they become serious. This thorough checkup gives us vital information to help keep your cat healthy!

Recalls and Withdraws Check here for a running, up-to-date list of cat food recalls from the FDA.
Behavior Management
We offer solutions for a variety of behavioral issues that cat owners are faced with. Behavioral problems can be challenging and frustrating for both cats and cat owners, so it is our goal to work with you towards a solution.
There are many behaviors that can be negative or destructive, and many cat owners feel helpless in bringing peace to their home. We want you to know that we are here to help, and that undesirable behaviors can be corrected.
In-House Laboratory
We are very proud of our laboratory. We are able to perform many diagnostic tests quickly and efficiently in it. We can do many simple tests but are also able to offer some more complex ones, too! We are able to run heartworm tests, leukemia and FIV tests, and full blood work for those who are interested in it. There are also many other tests we offer our patients.
The best part of being able to run laboratory tests in our hospital is that we can diagnose your cats much sooner than if we had to send the blood work out to another laboratory. Whenever your cats are not feeling well, we can offer you results and a diagnosis in minutes instead of making you wait a day (or more) for the results.
